Summary
Pitting a massive array of German and Russian tanks and artillery against one another on the plains of Russia in 1943, the climactic battle of Kursk was waged by the largest contingent of armor ever to take the field in World War II. But when the smoke cleared, Russia's decisive victory signaled the beginning of the end for Hitler's ambitions there and put the Allies on "The long road back" to gaining the upper hand across the Eastern Front. Be there as Russian soldiers savor the first heady taste of victory over the once-invincible Nazi panzer forces at Kursk and the battlefields of the Ukraine. Go raiding with the resourceful Russian partisans on missions to sabotage and harass their Nazi fores. Then, travel behind German lines to see the terrible effects of Hitler's Final Solution and feel the outrage experienced by the first troops to liberate death camps such as the infamous Auschwitz
